So, todays gym stats:
- Walked for 30 mins (approx 3 kms)
- Ran for 1 minute at 9km/h (don't laugh - that's a good effort for me)
- 15 mins on the elliptical runner, some really fast, some a bit slow
- 20 push ups
- 20 tricep dips
Everything is a little bit shaky now, must have worked hard enough!

Fz's dad's been looking up some crank online, who suggests that short surges of intense exercise, surrounded by calmer periods, are a good way build fitness. So a nice calm warm up for 10 minutes, then about 60 seconds of intense, pushing, personal pressure stuff, then back to the calm, etc. And that one minute wil change in intensity, as your fitness increases. It seems to make some sense. I guess it kind of mimics my ride home: up hill hurts, but then I get downhills.
No idea if it's endorsed by important people or not.
He also suggests that you shouldn't eat any carbs or sugars for 2 hours after serious exercise. What does that leave? A steak? A boiled egg! One roast chicken, please!
wot, no air con in the gym! isn't that criminal? and/or a little whiffy?
